The Lottery

The story "The Lottery" is about an old village/town that did this tradition where they would draw for a lottery. This lottery is one lottery you don't want to win because instead of winning cash, you get stoned to death! Unlucky Tessie Hutchinson was the one who got picked and the one who got stoned to death.
This picture symbolizes the people of that town. It is like they follow a stupid book of rules. The old man has been around long for the lottery and have never been picked but him and the rest of the people never made a choice to stop the lottery. The lottery is pointless if your going to kill someone, especially by stoning them. The lottery is killing innocent people for no reason, kids lose there parents, men loses there wives, and people lose their loved ones. In this town, no body knows why they do the lottery, but they still do it anyways. Everybody fears that they will get picked and yet they still continue with it every year. The people of that town do not need the lottery. When the lottery is there, people lose loved ones. If the lottery wasn't there then families would be together and there would be peace in the town. That town can live without the lottery, if only one person just stands up for themselves and vote to stop it. The people follow it as a law. They can't see the dangers of doing this and probably to scared to say anything.

The Veldt

The Veldt is a short story about a family that has new technology that lets whatever you think come to life. The father bought this for their kids in a room because "Nothing is to good for our children," he said. He loved his children so much that he spoiled them. The children imagine a safari jungle image and the parents were in it. At the horrible end the parents died because lions came and killed them. The kids didn't know that their parents die because they didn't know it was real, but the technology was so advanced it made everything real, and it's technology that made Mr. and Mrs. Hadley to have a tragic death.

DEAD TECHNOLOGY

 A dead mind
A dead investment
A dead technology-
That is what it is is'nt it?
The news is that China has fifty two missiles-
Turned towards India.
What is the 'use' of these idle missiles?
They are all dead are'nt they?
Will 'frightening' ever become a 'use'?
Will 'frightening' ever become a 'STRENGTH'?
Missile is nothing but a dead technology is'nt it?
A dead technology from a dead mind.
A science without its wisdom.
Man without attaining his 'WHOLENESS' through wisdom can-
only invent dead technology.
A technology developed only to kill people-
How else can we call it?

    W
hat this poet is trying to say in this poem is that technology that does bad things is 'dead technology'. The technology that was in the story "The Veldt" is 'dead technology' because it can lead to horrible things just like what happened to Mr. and Mrs. Hadley. This poet is saying that there is no point to have 'dead technology'. She is saying that 'dead technology' is technology that has bad  purposes such as killing people. Missiles are used to launch at countries and when it hits, it kills people and at the end of all this people are dead.
Humans can't live without technology, but people should invent useful technology instead of 'dead technology'. Humans use technology in everyday life and can't survive without it, they need it to cook, clean, work, for school, etc. These types of technology is useful, but technology thats harms people isn't.

The Sniper

The Sniper is a short story about this war that was happening. This story is based on the main character which is the Sniper. The story talks about how the Sniper dresses and how he acts. He is in battle with another sniper and eventually he kills the other sniper and it turns out to be his very own brother.

This video shows how deadly a sniper can be, while you are aiming for someone else they can be shooting you. In the short story " The Sniper," the irony of the story is that the sniper killed someone, and that someone was his very own brother.

This short story shows how war is bad, an example of this is that the Sniper killed his very own brother. The Sniper did not know that the man he killed was his brother. If he did, he probably wouldn't kill him. War turns innocent people against each other, and the people who start the wars, are the people who don't even go in to battle most of the times. The people who start the war make innocent people die for a stupid cause. When war is created, devastating weapons have also been created such as an atomic bomb. If war wasn't created, then people wouldn't die and counties wouldn't have to live in fright that another country will launch an atomic bomb at them. The Sniper have taken lives before but he didn't know how bad it is to kill people until he took a life of someone that he knew and probably loved. War should be resolved and should be taken care of another way other then war.
